Art Deco Diamond Engagement Rings

Although the Art Deco movement faded out with the onset of World War II, the style of Art Deco Diamond Engagement Rings remained popular and often included a 'stepped' structure of stones cascading down from the center-stone. Old mine-cut Diamonds and European-cut Diamonds were popular stones mounted in Art Deco Platinum Engagement Rings with striking color contrasting rubies, sapphires, emeralds, turquoise, coral and black onyx. Sophisticated attention was later paid to platinum and diamonds, eliminating the color contrast yet keeping the bold stylized geometric shapes and strong use of symmetry.
