Deriving its name in 1925 from The Exposition of Decorative Arts and Modern Manufacturers' in Paris , the Art Deco movement lasted roughly thirty years, from 1910 to 1939, incorporating WWI and WWII. Art Deco Jewelry expressed the Egyptian revival with the discovery of King Tutankhamen's grave when attention turned to scarabs, papyrus enamel and pyramids. Victorian values were rejected as artists used bold and exotic colors, exciting the public imagination. The new world mass production was challenged to incorporate art into industry, reflecting this new streamline style in the design of toasters, furniture, ocean-liners, ceramics, clothes and of course Art Deco Jewelry .
