The choker-style necklace is strung with five cascading rows of high quality round 'dyed black' cultured pearls measuring 5.0mm each, graduating to 5.4mm towards a very unusual circa 1780-1800 centered hand-painted porcelain plaque measuring 1 3/4" in diameter featuring a powerfully dramatic detailed picture of John the Baptist baptizing an African-American woman framed in 18k yellow gold.
