This antique English mourning pin with Victorian black enamel and rose-cut diamonds weighs 37g and measures 2" long, 2.5" wide and 18mm deep. The dramatic pairing of an elegant oval-shaped black enamel back drop with a sprig of 14k yellow gold florets studded with rose-cut diamonds creates a striking example of Victorian mourning jewelry. Most often mourning jewelry was crafted with a visible compartment for a locket of hair or picture of the deceased mounted on the reverse side.
