Platinum Engagement Rings
Platinum is often alloyed with copper and titanium. It's the only precious metal used in fine jewelry that is 90% to 95% pure, largely hypoallergenic, and tarnish-resistant. Between 1939 and 1945, Platinum was declared a strategic metal in the USA , used in the manufacture of armaments and Jewelry making was forbidden. Shortly after the war in 1947, Platinum Rings and diamond jewelry were shown in New York at the 'White Heat' exhibition, proving that Platinum was back in vogue. And in 1997 Tanaka Kogyo of Tokyo , Japan , created 2kg Platinum shoe which was displayed at the Ideal Home Exhibition in England.
