Vintage Earrings
Vintage Earrings on faycullen.com denotes the two decades prior to 1950. Resulting from the outbreak of the WW1 and WW2 Vintage Jewelry production slowed in the 1930’s and 1940’s. Platinum and nickel being almost unobtainable in the 1940’s, jewelers were forced to alloy gold with copper, resulting in Rose-Gold Retro Jewelry. The supply of precious stones was curtailed, consequentially aquamarines, citrines, amethyst and quartz were mounted in Vintage Earrings in addition to synthetic rubies, which proved to be much easier to obtain. Typical earring designs are three inches long, mounted with small diamonds in Rose Gold with perhaps a stylish tassel.
