These Art Deco Earrings with European-cut diamonds and emeralds are crafted in lavish platinum with 18k yellow gold accents, weigh 5.3g and measure 50mm long, 7mm wide and 2.5mm deep. Epitomizing the distinct geometrical and color-contrasting features of Art Deco Jewelry, these enchanting Art Deco style earrings incorporate stylized hexagonal plaques adorned with a pair of bezel-set European-cut diamonds cumulatively weighing 0.16cts, graded I color and SI clarity range. Embellished with black enamel accents, the absorbing hexagonal panels suspend 'en tremblant' from diamond-encrusted marquise profiles, surmounted by trios of color contrasting rectangular-cut emeralds, cumulatively weighing 0.12cts, graded 'rich forest-green' color and 'fair' clarity. These enticing Art Deco style earrings are cumulatively adorned with additional 0.30cts of European-cut diamonds graded H-J color and SI clarity range. Secured by means of well constructed 18k yellow gold lever-backs, these highly desirable Art Deco style platinum diamond and emerald earrings feature fascinating pierced openwork, subtle reeding and finely mille grained edge-work throughout.

Influenced by the Far and Middle East, Greece, the Romans and the Egyptians, Art Deco rose like the Phoenix from the ashes of World War I. The introduction of cubism in the art world after 1925 brought about strong geometrical patterns strongly associated with this style today. Diamonds and platinum were used disregarding cost. Gemstones were cut into triangles, trapezoids, oblong shapes and emerald cuts. Oriental Jade and Coral were carved in oriental style for pendants, bracelets and earrings. Aquamarines, topaz and citrine are also part of the Art Deco style and widely used to express the feelings of the period. Although the great Depression of the 1930's was a hard time for everyone, the Art Deco style infused the everyday world with elegance and sophistication. Art Deco jewelry was mainly dominated by French designers, Cartier, Bucheron, and Fouquet to name some of the most outstanding.
