This Victorian heart ring with a rose-cut diamond and cobalt blue enamel accents in antique Mogul revival style is crafted in matted 18k yellow gold, weighs 4.1g and measures 9mm wide and 4mm deep. Inspired by the mid-Victorian naturalism and romanticism which flourished rapidly throughout Europe, this Victorian Style Ring of romantic significance is masterfully handcrafted in the antique Mogul revival style and exposes a heart-shaped piqué rose-cut diamond graded 'foil-backed light-brown' color measuring 6.89mm long and 5.03mm wide. The antique precious-stone of this Antique Style Ring is mounted in a heart-shaped, foil-backed yellow gold setting, enhanced by Mogul style cobalt blue enamel accents and embraced by artistically designed openwork shoulders incorporating yellow gold and blue enamel foliate themed profiles. The highly ornate tapering shoulders of this unique Victorian Mogul Antique Style Diamond Ring merge into a spherical yellow gold band embellished with a delicately enameled lozenge profile. This alluring finger or thumb ring can be sized down with the addition of a horseshoe insert or a pair of stabilizing gold beads.

Originally referred to as 'Mughal', the Persian word for Mongol of which the name Mogul is the modern version, the term was used to refer to the Central Asian nomads claiming descent from the Mongol warriors. The Mughal Empire was founded in 1526 and, in spite of drastic upheavals, survived until 1857. According to historians, it was the greatest empire of the world for over two centuries. The most famous Mughal Emperor 'Shah Jahan' succeeded to the throne by mid-seventeenth century, giving rise to a period of cultural prosperity and development for his nation. His empire supported cultural life, directed the creation of libraries, and collections of paintings and various objects of art. Shah Johan's reign is remembered primarily for his monumental architectural achievements, the most famous of which is the Taj Mahal, symbolizing the Mughal artistic achievements. The Mughal era was the most significant in Indian history with respect to a fruitful fusion of Indian, Persian and Central Asian artistic tradition. The Mughals appreciated fine things of life, produced masterfully designed artifacts and favored cultural activities. The blending of Persian and Indian artistic heritage resulted in the production of valuable pieces of jewelry and decorative objects mostly made of gold and embellished with precious stones and exquisite enamels of innumerable design and color. Green and red, however, were the favorite colors of the emperors and hence the frequent use of emeralds and rubies in the pieces of jewelry of the era.
