This eco-friendly Diamond Engagement Ring of antique Etruscan Revival inspiration is crafted in 18k yellow gold, weighs 4.4g and measures 11mm wide and 5mm deep. Emblematic of antique Etruscan ring design primarily used as amulets, this alluring Conflict Free Antique Style Engagement Ring incorporates a 1.45ct pear-shaped, eco-friendly piqué rose-cut diamond measuring 8.98mm long and 7.75mm wide, with an absorbing 'rusty peach-cloud' color. With its delightful inner structure and positive impact on environment, this captivating piqué diamond is deep-mounted within a 'rotating' bezel setting, allowing for free movement in between the majestically arched shoulders by means of a delicate Etruscan style hinge mechanism. Etruscans reined over a vast region of Northern Italy in what we call Toscana today, beginning in the late 8th century B.C. and remained vulnerable to the threats of the Greeks who later inherited the extremely rich Etruscan culture. Such rotating center-stone settings were used to offer versatility of changing the gemstone in accordance with the specific protective purposes of their amulets, which encompassed a wide range in their antique civilization. Cartouche style plates and plaques were often used in lieu of gemstones, hinged on both sides and bearing an intaglio engraved inscription of spiritual significance. Amuletic rings with rotating center-stones or plaques were also worn as pendants with the center-stone posed in flat position. The well-constructed spherical band of this Eco friendly Engagement Ring is rendered in elegantly matted yellow gold and is easily sizable.

Please note that as some of these rough-cut diamonds do not have flat tables, they don’t lend themselves to our regular system of photography. Rose-cut diamonds tend to reflect the light due to the facet structure, preventing viewing the beautiful array of natural colors inside the stone. Consequently these are light-sensitive diamonds whose tonality changes under varying light-sources but all the colors are natural and nothing is enhanced. Please note that the color grade offered is that most prevalent in lab conditions under fluorescent lighting. In support of Dorothée Gizenga, appointed the Diamond Development Initiative’s first executive director, FCI hopes to help change the world’s demand for commercial diamonds, therefore to potentially stop the supply of blood diamonds by altering the demand for diamonds in some small way. Rough-cut diamonds are NEVER blood diamonds because the black-market prices for stones such as these fortunately do not warrant the risk.
