This antique jewelry item is a Victorian lapel watch with rose-cut diamonds crafted in 14k yellow gold, weighing 17.7g and measuring 38mm long, 27mm wide and 11mm deep. This exquisite Swiss-made time-piece is an authentic 1890's Victorian lapel/fob watch featuring a matte white enamel dial, ornately scrolled yellow gold hands and black Arabic numerals with the exception of a red '12' numeral. The dial bears the name of the horologist 'Audemars Frères' of ‘Brassus, Genève' in decorative italic script. This delicate and highly ornate ladies watch has a 17-jewel lever movement secured in a 14k yellow gold cuvette. The reverse of the upper lid is intaglio engraved with the serial number '145714', the official Swiss hallmark consisting of a pine-tree embraced by the letters 'E' and 'S' and the European mark ‘585’ indicating 14k gold. The front lid of the gold case is intaglio engraved with a decorative rosette design of five partly chased and textured gold petals set with 11 twinkling rose-cut diamonds. Suspending the winding knob is a gold chain comprising three ovular links and a delicate yellow gold safety pin for wear as lapel ornament. Movement, dial and cuvette are all original and the watch is in perfect working order.
