This Art Deco ring with a Madeira citrine, rubies and old mine-cut diamonds in antique style is crafted in lavish platinum, weighs 14.5g and measures 30mm wide and 9mm deep. This extravagant, color-contrasted Deco style madeira citrine ring of geometrical and naturalistic inspiration exposes an opulent bezel-set 12.60ct pineapple-faceted cushion-cut 'Madeira' citrine measuring 17.23mm wide and 15.42mm deep, graded a desirable 'vivid amber' color and 'excellent' clarity. This vivacious gemstone, highly prized for its unique intensity of color, is flanked by delicate crescent-shape alignments of French square-cut rubies, cumulatively weighing 0.24cts, graded 'vivid pinkish-red' color and 'very good' clarity. Absorbing trios of collets mounted with six old mine-cut diamonds, cumulatively weighing 0.24cts, graded H color and SI1 clarity vertically flank the center-stone, surrounded by naturalistically inspired openwork profiles. The latter are cumulatively adorned with 0.52cts of bezel and bead-set old mine-cut diamonds graded H color and SI1 clarity, enhanced by immaculate mille grain application throughout and romantically scalloped perimeters. This stunning Deco style citrine ring features an elaborately pierced, asymmetrically themed gallery, a sturdy platinum band, and an easily sizable shank.

Deriving its name from the French word 'citron', meaning lemon, the gemstone citrine has a color palette encompassing ‘yellow’ to ‘gold’ to ‘orange-brown’ shades of transparent quartz. The darker orange nuances of citrine, referred to as 'Madeira citrine' named after the color of the wine, is generally considered to be the most valuable color. Most citrine is mined in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, where there is presently an abundant supply. Citrine, modern birthstone for November, is considered an alternative to topaz, but which is a separate mineral. In ancient times, citrine was carried as a protection against snake venom and evil thoughts.
