This vintage filigree bracelet is a delightful example of popular Filigree Jewelry. Mounted with diamonds and emeralds, this collectible bracelet is crafted in 14k yellow gold, weighing 9.7g and measuring 6.75 inches around the wrist, 18mm wide and 8mm deep. Exuding classic elegance and feminine grace, this vintage 1930's filigree bracelet of immaculate artisanship incorporates at the center a stylized lozenge cartouche decor rendered in artistic filigree gold, exposing seven relief style lozenge profiles. The centrally positioned lozenge silhouette is mounted with a sparkling 0.06ct European-cut diamond graded J color and SI1 clarity while the surrounding lozenge silhouettes are adorned with single-cut diamonds graded K color and SI clarity range, cumulatively weighing 0.06cts, inclusive of the diamonds on the flanking links. The latter are mounted entirely within artfully mille grained white gold frames, complemented by a duo of color contrasting custom-cut emeralds, cumulatively weighing 0.04cts, graded 'dark bottle-green' color and 'fair' clarity accentuated by 0.18cts of single-cut diamonds graded J color and SI1 clarity. Twelve absorbing filigree links of stylized hexagonal format constitute this refined bracelet, rendered in skillful gold wire and accentuated by delicately chased borders. This alluring 1930's filigree bracelet of pronounced finesse and enchanting aesthetic features a delicate diaphanous gallery and is secured with a patented, secure sliding clasp.

The term 'filigree' denotes a decorative openwork piercing technique in which patterns are made of wires, often soldered to a background in a precise, time-consuming, and costly process. Filigree work was familiar to Europe for centuries and reached its highest popularity in the 1830's. London and Paris jewelers possibly acquired their inspirations from Portugal or North Africa where filigree had been a common goldsmith technique along the Mediterranean coast. European and American manufacturers started mass production of filigree in the 1930's by cutting patterns out of stamped metal sheets. The piercing, however, had to be done by hand and was therefore labor intensive and expensive. Today, it is only the Italians, the Chinese and a few others who continue hand-producing intricate designs, making filigree boxes and rosary beads in addition to jewelry.
