This Art Deco Sterling silver picture frame is English and bears the official hallmark of the Assay Office of Chester. Crafted in English Sterling silver, this alluring rectangular picture frame weighs 956g and measures 11 inches long, 9 inches wide and 11mm deep. This authentic Art Deco picture frame is sold containing a colored portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II from the 'Royal Portrait' collection in Montreal, shipped to Vermont, accompanied by the original envelope bearing a 2-cent Canadian stamp. Her Majesty the Queen is photographed in her royal attire wearing the 'King George IV' diadem, the sash badge of 'Lesser George', Prince of Wales (1787), and the 'Star of the Greek Order of the Redeemer'. The historically significant diadem is worn by the Queen only on state occasions such as the opening of parliament. It was made in 1820 for King George IV and has undergone extensive refurbishments throughout its lifetime. The Sterling silver frame is stamped with 'lion passant', the Assay Mark of Chester and the date letter 'Y' in Italic script denoting the year 1924. Not in perfect condition, this silver frame has received some 'age-spots' over the years.
