This Sterling silver picture frame weighs 375g and measures 9 inches long, 7 inches wide and 0.75 inches deep. Designed as a plainly elegant ovular frame with dual ball-shaped feet, black velvet back lining and stand, this attractive picture frame, probably of European provenance, contains a rare and authentic Press photograph of HM Queen Elizabeth II (then Princess Elizabeth). The photograph shows the Queen during her first outing with 'Prince Philip Mountbatten' one month after the birth of her first son Prince Charles. The photograph was taken prior to the Queen’s ascension to the throne in February 1953 and shows Queen Elizabeth and Duke of Edinburgh driving to Clarence House, to inspect ongoing restoration works. Clarence House was the couple’s official residence in London until 1953. This classically alluring and collectible Sterling silver picture frame is stamped with 'Sterling 3468' with the manufacturer's trademark. There is damage to the frame, evident in the pictures that merely adds to the charm of the item.
