This Sterling silver frame with decorative floral motif chase-work weighs 324.6g and measures 8.25 inches long, 5.75 inches wide and 14mm deep. Possibly of European provenance, this classically elegant and highly ornate hand-engraved picture frame of rectangular format bears the monogram 'MCM' within a stylized marquise shaped cartouche and chased with identical marquise motif patterns on all sides, surrounded by an alluring assemblage of delicate tulips in vertical alignment. This Sterling silver picture frame is sold with an authentic Press photograph of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II dated 18th December 1952. The photograph was taken as the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh attended a special performance of Bertram Mills Circus at Olympia on that date. The show was sponsored by the Variety Club of Great Britain in support of the National Playing Fields Association. This picture frame is stamped on the lower extremity with 'STERLING 2070 W.ADAM' and, together with the frame, is a collectible memento for those interested in the history of the English Royal Family.
