These Georgian rose-cut diamond earrings with sapphires and tourmaline beads in antique style are crafted in silver with 9k yellow gold accents. Weighing 16.7g, these significant drop Georgian rose-cut diamond earrings measure exactly 3 inches long, 1.25 inches wide and 2mm deep. Cumulatively adorned with 278 glowing rose-cut diamonds, and in stunning chandelier style, these earrings incorporate an assemblage of immaculately designed geometric, asymmetric, pear-shape and paisley-motif silhouettes appreciatively aligned to constitute a most absorbing aesthetic composition of unmistakable feminine grace. Mounted within delicate, finely mille grained pear-shape frames are a pair of tablet-cut, foil-backed pique diamonds measuring 4.55mm long and 3.3mm wide, surrounded by glowing diamond-studded, skillfully pierced asymmetric profiles, suspending 62 delicate sapphire beads graded an enchanting 'violet-blue' color, each connected by means of minute ringlets, enhanced by 14 alluring tourmaline beads measuring 5mm in average diameter, graded 'pinkish-red' color. These pastel-colored gemstones are mounted 'en pampille' in cascading rows and suspend three sapphire beads through tiny ringlets to enrich the color contrast. The captivating lozenge drops are surmounted by intricate paisley profiles mounted in pairs, spaced by a delicate collet solitaire. A pair of orbicular silhouettes constitutes the ear clips, mounted with tablet-cut pique diamonds measuring 3.6mm long and 3.4mm wide. These attention-seeking Georgian earrings feature 9k gold post and clasp outfitting, designed exclusively for pierced ears.

Rose-cut diamonds belong to the 'antique' family of diamonds introduced as early as the 1500's. By mid-16th century, various forms of the rose-cut were developed, derived from the preceding types of cuts. A flat base and a crown composed of triangular facets constitute the basic characteristics of rose-cut diamonds the name of which derives from a visible resemblance to the petals of a rose bud. Although mostly circular in outline, other variations such as the oval-shape 'briolette', the hexagonal Antwerp rose' and the 'double Dutch rose' have also been in use and considered rose-cut. Earlier diamonds, including rose-cuts, were cut manually until the early 1900's, involving a laborious and time-consuming process. Rose-cut diamonds have gradually become scarce and can only be found in antique jewelry. They have been growing rarer by the decade due to the fact that many antique diamonds have been re-cut to suit more modern proportions, resulting in escalating demand.
