Edwardian Rings

Ladies of the Edwardian era were enamored by the fine hand-made open-worked lace-like detail of the Edwardian Rings constructed in platinum. The high society were fortunate enough to enjoy the unique combination of South Africa’s diamond mine avalanche coupled with Wallaston’s facilitation of the commercial use of platinum. From this exceptional alliance came the birth of Louis Cartier in the early 1900’s whose unrivaled skill led England’s King Edward VII to term him ‘The jeweler of kings and the king of jewelers'. Even today, the intricate platinum work combined with diamonds and pearls representing the best of the Edwardian Jewelry era are very much in demand.
