This pavé sapphire estate necklace resplendent in almost 14cts of pavé-set sapphires and over 1.00ct of diamonds, is crafted in 18k white gold, weighs 21.3g and measures 19 inches long, the length being adjustable by virtue of a 'sliding clasp'. The articulated pear shaped drops measure 6cm long and 15mm wide, and 1.5 inches long and 12mm wide respectively. This pavé-set sapphire estate necklace of sophisticated and elegant aesthetic is inspired by the popular 'lavallière' style of Fin de Siècle necklaces consisting of a stylized knotted motif supporting two pendants of uneven length. Its name was derived from that of the French actress Eve Lavallière, whose former occupation had been tying ribbons in a hat factory. Lavallière necklaces were primarily set with diamonds but occasionally with pearls or pastel colored gemstones. The alluring pear shaped pendants of this lavallière style necklace are embellished with meticulously designed diamond-studded 'spirals', complemented by a third spiral surmount, cumulatively swathed in 1.20cts of full-cut diamonds graded I color and SI1 clarity. The integrated chain of this intriguing pavé-set sapphire and diamond necklace is composed of interlocking, inversely juxtaposed ovular links, featuring an orbicular, sliding clasp offering versatility of length adjustment. A figure-eight safety latch ensures additional security, while a bejeweled pear shape silhouette mounted at the chain-end, measuring 50mm long and 7mm wide, allows for conformity to the Fin de Siècle lavallière necklaces. The latter were designed to enhance the sophistication of décolleté attires by glittering diamonds displayed on both sides of the décolletage. The trio of eye-catching pear shape drops is cumulatively embedded in 13.80cts of full-cut sapphires, graded 'lively pastel-blue' color and 'good' clarity.
