This vintage Forstner chocker necklace crafted in 14k yellow gold weighs 67.4g and measures 14.5 inches in circumference, 14mm wide and 7mm deep. This authentic 1950's Vintage Necklace epitomizes a most popular style of the period, designed as a flexible chain of 'Brazilian' tubular or flat linking, often as relatively short, choker necklace to be fastened at the base of the neck. In the 1950's, necklaces were amongst the most highly desired pieces of jewelry, worn both for day and evening wear. They were considered the ideal complement to the generous heart-shaped décolletages of evening gowns and the simple necklines of day and afternoon attires. Gold chains of Brazilian linking were produced in great varieties of design and length, ranging from chokers to considerably longer, tubular or 'gas-pipe' link necklaces, knotted at the front or at the side with a gem-set ribbon-bow. The latter was pioneered by Cartier in Paris and gained popularity throughout Europe. This vintage Brazilian chain necklace secures with a sturdy tubular tongue-and-groove clasp, bearing the name 'FORSTNER' and the purity mark '14K'.
