This vintage butterfly brooch of European provenance is crafted in 18k yellow gold with red and green enamel accents, weighs 12.4g and measures 51mm long, 20mm wide and 3.5mm deep. Delicate and elegant in design, this vintage brooch characterizes the new renaissance of naturalism in 1950's with growing popularity of naturalistically inspired floral and insect designs. The meticulously crafted wings of this colorful butterfly are accentuated with green and red enamel applied in asymmetrically aligned scrolls to depict the anatomically accurate aesthetic of the butterfly. A number of eight full-cut diamonds cumulatively weighing 0.08cts graded G color and VS2 clarity are collet-mounted along the borders of the upper wings, while the adjacent red-enamel lines are dotted in white to enhance the color contrast. A delicately hinged pin and a retractable hook secure this delightful vintage brooch. The reverse of the lower wing is stamped '750' denoting the European purity mark for 18k gold.
