This Victorian rose-cut diamond brooch with emeralds, rubies and a sapphire is crafted in silver-topped 9ct rose gold, weighs 18.3g and measures 57mm long, 48mm wide and 11mm deep. Lavish in every detail, this authentic 19th century brooch is emblematic of the Victorian Naturalism and the popular spray brooches which reached the height of their popularity during the decade of 1830-1840. The exquisite flower head exposes a foil-backed oval-faceted emerald measuring 7.5mm long and 6,5mm wide, graded 'foil-backed light grass-green' color and 'fair' clarity. The alluring flower 'petals', the randomly inclined stems and the enchanting leaves are cumulatively adorned with 36 rose-cut diamonds measuring on average 7.5mm long and 6.5mm wide. A number of five round-faceted rubies cumulatively weighing 0.40cts graded 'lively-fuchsia' color and 'good' clarity constitute the temptingly beautiful 'buds' of this colorful Victorian brooch, mounted within finely chased collets. The latter are complemented by a round-faceted sapphire of 0.20cts weight, graded 'lively medium-blue' color and 'fair' clarity and a collet-mounted emerald matching the grade of the oval-faceted emerald adorning the absorbing bloom. This authentic Victorian floral spray brooch is secured with the original hinged pin and bayonet clasp closure, has survived a considerable lapse of time and is in pristine condition.
