This Victorian turquoise locket brooch and pendant of Etruscan Revival inspiration with turquoise cabochons and black and white enamel is crafted in 15ct yellow gold, weighs 18.8g and measures 41mm wide and 16mm deep. Most probably of English provenance, this authentic 19th century Victorian Etruscan Revival work of art is designed as a highly ornate orbicular plaque. A dome-shaped assemblage of delicate turquoise cabochons measuring 2.5mm in diameter, graded 'dark to light turquoise' color constitutes the central decor of this lavishly elaborate orbicular plaque, encircled by a highly ornate florally themed black, white and gold enamel rim. The absorbing floral design is embellished with dual corded gold wire borders, surrounded by an exquisite, quintessentially Etruscan revival style perimeter. The latter incorporates artistic granulation accents mounted in artfully hollowed yellow gold, spaced by emblematic white and gold enamel designs in quatrefoil motif. An intricate corded wire rim constitutes the outer perimeter of the highly decorative plaque. This versatile Victorian brooch and pendant of sentimental inspiration features a locket compartment to conceal a lock of hair, a photograph, or any other memento of sentimental significance belonging to a loved one. An orbicular bale to support a chain and the original pin and C-hook secure this authentic Victorian brooch and pendant.
