This Russian Ceylon sapphire engagement ring from the late 1950's vintage era is of Russian artisanship, crafted in a combination of 14k rose gold and platinum, weighing 4.4g and measuring 12mm wide and 8.5mm deep. This exquisite bi-tone Ceylon sapphire vintage engagement ring exposes a prominent 2.56ct emerald-cut Ceylon sapphire measuring 7.04mm long and 5.58mm wide, graded 'pale light-blue' color and 'good' clarity. The alluringly translucent, high quality azure corundum is secured by multiple prongs within a meticulously designed platinum 'rosette' style setting characteristic of the vintage era. Superimposing a delicately scallop-edged, arcade motif openwork gallery, the absorbing platinum rosette supporting the Ceylon sapphire is embraced by color contrasting rose gold shoulders which taper gracefully to merge into a spherical rose gold band and an easily sizable shank. The latter bears the official Russian hallmark composed of 'hammer & sickle' in a star mark' enforced in Russia from 1958 and the three-digit purity mark for 14k gold.
