This Victorian engagement ring with a demantoid green garnet is handcrafted in 18k yellow gold with platinum topped accents, weighs 2.4g and measures 9mm wide and 3.3mm deep. Quintessentially Victorian in design and artisanship, this unique and original Russian demantoid green garnet from the Ural Mountains centers an engagement ring inspired by mid-Victorian Romanticism. Exposing a 0.78ct heart-faceted demantoid green garnet measuring 5.70mm long and 5.60mm wide, graded a delightful 'vivid-chartreuse' color and 'good' clarity, this most popular of styles, the heart makes a perfect love token. A glowing diamond border adorned with 13 fiery old mine-cut diamonds cumulatively weighing 0.15cts graded I color and SI1 clarity, complemented by 0.03cts of matching grade full-cut diamonds encircle the temptingly romantic demantoid heart mounted in a platinum-topped setting, surmounting the artistically chiseled, two-tone gallery. This Victorian engagement ring of outstanding finesse and aesthetic beauty features a spherical yellow gold band and an easily sizable shank.

Referred to as the 'star of green garnets', demantoid is a green variety of the mineral andradite, a member of the garnet family of minerals. By definition, demantoid is always green, but the exact shade ranges from a very light yellowish peridot-color green to almost the color of a fine emeralds. Due to its scarcity and extreme luminosity, demantoids are amongst the most highly esteemed gemstones. Mined in the depths of the Ural Mountains in Russia, this valuable and very rare gem is most often found in antique jewelry from the turn of the 19th century. Russia's renowned jewelry designer Carl Fabergé admired greatly the green garnet and used it in many of his world famous creations.

…..for Guys only…..a note from the Ladies….

I have been asked personally by a number of female recipients of Fay Cullen Engagement Rings to respectfully draw the attention of future male Engagement Ring shoppers to our much coveted English Silver or Swarovski Crystal Wedding Ring Boxes which they were unfortunately not given, but which they discovered on our site after their proposal! You may wish to give serious thought to a Custom-made, Contour-fitted Wedding Band due to the fact that we only offer this service at the time of purchase, prior to shipping. Thank you!
