This antique Victorian 'toi et moi' ring with a demantoid green garnet and an old mine-cut diamond is crafted in 14k yellow gold weighing 4.4g and measuring 13mm wide and 3mm deep. This original highly ornate 'toi et moi' demantoid green garnet and old mine-cut diamond Victorian ring is inspired by the end of the century when the French Art Nouveau period pioneered ring designs which maintained their assigned name and popularity to the present time. Such rings were produced in a great number of versions mounted with precious and semi-precious stones. The latter was a demantoid green garnet par excellence, a gemstone highly favored by Art Nouveau jewelry designers, and to a lesser extent rubies and sapphires accompanied by an antique diamond. The enchanting accoutrement of color-contrasting stones were juxtaposed in adjacent or vis-à-vis alignment to convey 'romantic closeness'. This Victorian 'toi et moi' ring exposes an 0.18ct round brilliant-cut demantoid green garnet graded 'lively grass-green' color and 'good' clarity, and a 0.15ct fiery old mine-cut diamond graded 'light-yellow'(N) color and SI1 clarity, mounted in an adjacent 'en diagonal' position. This captivating Victorian demantoid green garnet and old mine-cut diamond ring features gracefully curvaceous shoulders, a spherical tapering yellow gold band and an easily sizable shank.
