This vintage platinum engagement ring with diamonds weighs 4.2g and measures 6mm wide and 6mm deep. Designed with simplicity and timeless elegance, this vintage 1950's engagement ring exposes a 0.76ct brilliant-cut diamond graded 'Very Light Yellow' N color and SI2 clarity secured with four gracefully elongated prongs and mounted in a distinctively elevated position. A pair of flanking shoulder-mounted baguette diamonds cumulatively weighing 0.18cts, graded H color and VS2 clarity embrace the glowing center-stone, adorning the tri-dimensional, subtly arched and shielded shoulders which merge to form a sleek and spherical platinum band and an easily sizable shank stamped 'Plt.' and the engraved inscription from 1932 'H.A.B. to E.W. 9.16.32' in decorative italics.
The ancients and the alchemists called gold 'The Metal of the Sun' and silver 'The Metal of the Moon' but within the past two centuries the world has become familiar with platinum, a metal of equal dignity with gold, but with the pure whiteness of the somewhat tarnishing silver. Platinum, because of its durability and purity, may well be called 'The metal of Heaven'. Since its discovery, platinum has been used to a great extent for the purpose of mounting jewels or the stars of heaven, as it were in their heavenly setting.
…..for Guys only…..a note from the Ladies….
I have been asked personally by a number of female recipients of Fay Cullen Engagement Rings to respectfully draw the attention of future male Engagement Ring shoppers to our much coveted English Silver or Swarovski Crystal Wedding Ring Boxes which they were unfortunately not given, but which they discovered on our site after their proposal!
You may wish to give serious thought to a Custom-made, Contour-fitted Wedding Band due to the fact that we only offer this service at the time of purchase, prior to shipping.
Thank you!
