Vintage Platinum Engagement Rings
The use of platinum was disallowed by the US Government in the use of Vintage Platinum Engagement Rings when World War II began and it was declared a strategic metal for use only in military applications. At this time Platinum Filigree Engagement Rings were replaced by White Gold Vintage Engagement Rings which became more popular after the Second World War. The Incas prized platinum, but not as much as legendary jewelers such as Cartier, Faberge and Tiffany. And the world's famous diamonds, including the Hope, Jonker I and Koh-I-Noor are all mounted in platinum, of which all that was ever mined would fit into the average sized living room.
