This gold David Webb Vintage Ring bearing the designer's signature is an authentic piece of jewelry created by the renowned American designer David Webb whose company has been in business over sixty years and has designed jewelry for some of the most legendary jewel connoisseurs in the world including Elizabeth Taylor, the Duchess of Windsor and Princess Grace. This vintage unique sculptural ring of avant-garde design is inspired by the historically known Byzantine style of rings, referred to as the 'pyramidal roof' ring. Different versions of this style were known during the sixth to eighth century Rome, with each side depicting a triangle in hammered gold or with flattened gold beading. Crafted in elegantly matted 18K yellow gold, this vintage signed David Webb ring weighs 28.7g measuring 2.6cm wide and 2cm deep. A curvilinear gallery of elegant simplicity and broad tapering shoulders complement the stunning pyramidal plaque. The inner band bears the designer's signature and the purity mark '18K'.

A native of Asheville, North Carolina, David Webb began designing jewelry at an early age while he apprenticed in his uncle's factory, and moved to New York City as a teenager to pursue his craft. Before long, his jewelry designs caught the attention of department stores such as Bergdorf Goodman. Besides his unique designing genius, David Webb was a highly skilled jeweler who would often take the time to sit with his artisans and demonstrate precisely how he wanted his jewelry to be crafted. Although best remembered for his animal and naturalistic designs, his repertoire of design inspirations encompasses everything from Etruscan culture to 18th century jewels from Jaipur.
